In “Our Flag Means Death,” the story follows Stede Bonnet, a pampered aristocrat back in the 18th century. Following a midlife crisis, Bonnet abandons his privileged life to become a pirate. Things didn’t go well for him on his adventure. The story is said to have been written based on a true life story.

The second action-adventure installment will hit the silver screen on October 5, 2023, on Max.

3 ‘Frasier’ (Season 1)

Remember Dr. Frasier Crane of the epic 31 Emmy award-winning comedy series, which ran for 11 years? This is a reboot edition of the same series. In this reboot edition, the successful Dr. Frasier Crane moves to Seattle to start a new life, forge new relationships, and perhaps fulfill some old dreams and aspirations. However, his old problems are still unsolved. Dr. Frasier still has his father, brother, and other people from his old life to deal with. 

The first season of the reboot edition premieres October 12, 2023, on Paramount Plus. 

4 ‘Lupin’ (Season 3)

This TV series adaptation is a classic retelling of Maurice Leblanc’s novel “Arsène Lupin: Gentleman Thief.” The classic French story is focused on Lupin, the world-famous gentleman thief and the master of disguise. Inspired by Arsène Lupin‘s story, Assane Diop sets out on a mission to avenge an injustice suffered by his father in the hands of a wealthy family.

“Lupin” season three will be released on Netflix on October 5, 2023. 

5 ‘Upload’ (Season 3)

After his untimely death, a man is given the privilege to choose his own afterlife by having his consciousness cued into a virtual world. As he settles into his new reality and befriends his angel, questions arise about his death. “Upload” imagines a scenario where the ultra-rich can determine their afterlife. Sounds like a bizarre concept, right?

“Upload” season three will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 20, 2023. 

6 ‘Everything Now’ (Season 1)

This British teen comedy-drama series follows Mia Polanco, who has had a lengthy battle with anorexia. Released from the hospital, she is thrust back into the world of sixth form as she seeks to make up for lost time by checking things — sex, partying, breaking the law, etc. — off her bucket list.

“Everything Now” will be released on October 5, 2023, on Netflix. 

7 ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ (Season 1)

Mike Flanagan is on a mission to produce an adaptation of one of Edgar Allan Poe‘s timeless works, the 1839 classic “The Fall of the House of Usher.” And if anyone can, it’s Flanagan. Flanagan seeks to give it a modern take while leaning in on some of Poe’s properties. Whichever way, this will be a contemporary horror series.

“The Fall of the House of Usher” will be released on October 12, 2023, on Netflix.

8 ‘Loki’ (Season 2)

The mercurial villain Loki, the God of Mischief (portrayed by Tom Hiddleston), steps out of Thor’s shadow on an adventure after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston was born for this role, no doubt.

In its first season, Loki registered itself as one of the best classical sci-fi standalone series from Marvel so far. Expectations are that the upcoming installment, which will premiere on October 6, 2023, on Disney Plus, will be no less than outstanding, just like the first. 

9 ‘Neon’ (Season 1)

The lives of three friends are about to be shaken up as they relocate from a small town in Florida to Miami. Their ambition is to explore and shake the world of reggaeton with nothing else at their advantage than their wild dreams and the beats in their hearts. 

The music comedy will premiere on Netflix on Oct. 19, 2023.

10 ‘Lessons in Chemistry’ (Season 1)

Set in a typical patriarchal society in the ’50s, the story follows Elizabeth Zott (Brie Larson), a young, ambitious lady whose dreams of being a chemist suffered a setback when she learned she was pregnant. Not only did her pregnancy affect the pursuit of her dream career, but she also got fired. Left alone, dreams shattered, Elizabeth picks a job as a TV host for a cooking show, “Supper at Six.”

But history is about to be made as Elizabeth teaches the nation more than just recipes. She ingeniously pivots, utilizing her cooking show as an unconventional medium to educate housewives stealthily — and unexpectedly, their husbands — about the marvels of chemistry concealed in everyday cooking.

The series explores themes like hope, patriarchy, and gender equality.

Premiering on Apple TV+ on October 13, 2023, the series brilliantly melds scientific curiosity with societal rebellion, crafting a story where the kitchen unexpectedly becomes a clandestine classroom and every recipe a quiet insurrection against the confining norms of the time.
